Grappling Team Sigulda: a site and a member system from the ground up

A jiu-jitsu and grappling club in Sigulda. I built both the public site, with the training schedule, prices and location, and a separate member system in which the club keeps payments, attendance and belt history.

Context

Grappling Team Sigulda is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu and grappling club in Sigulda. Training takes place in the sports hall of Siguldas 1. pamatskola, and the coach is Guntis Gruzniņš, a black belt. The main language of the site is Latvian.

What was needed

The club needed two separate things: a public site where a newcomer sees straight away when training happens and what it costs, and an internal system in which the club keeps track of its members.

What was done

I built the site from the ground up with Next.js. The public pages are the training schedule, prices, frequently asked questions and the location. Alongside them I built a member system. It is software I made for the club, not a public page, so a visitor does not see it and cannot open it.

  • Prices on the site: the first class free, €40 a month with no limit, €7 for a single session
  • The member system: payments, attendance, belt ranks and belt history, gi sizes
  • Running tournaments in the system
  • The member portal: a member’s own training hours, the club ranking by hours trained, their own belt history
  • Personalised invite links: a new member enters their own details and lands in the system straight away

Result

Someone interested in training now finds the schedule, the price and the place on their own, so the club does not have to answer the same questions message by message. In the member system, payments, attendance and belt history sit in one place, and each member can see their own record. That system is not publicly available: it is software for the club’s internal work.
